The Turku Printmakers association’s 90th anniversary exhibition Painetut maailmat (eng. printed worlds) offers a fresh look into today’s printmaking and its techniques in Turku and Finland. The exhibition has been curated by the association’s honorary chairman Juha Joro and features works from 12 of its members: Annika Dahlsten, Markku Haanpää, Katri Ikävalko, Sirkku Ketola, Heli Kurunsaari, Miina Laine, Teija Lehto, Sara Manninen, Laura Miettinen, Tiina Vainio, Hanna Varis and Jirko Viljanen.
One of the central themes of the exhibition is the passage of time. The exhibition as a whole demonstrates the uniqueness of printmaking as an artistic expression. While the techniques have multiplied and broadened they are based on the centuries-old tradition of printing.
Guided tours are held on Sundays at 2pm and are included in the ticket price. Welcome!
