Grafiska Sällskapet is a nationwide association for printmaking based in Stockholm, founded in 1910. It brings together Swedish graphic artists and promotes the visibility of printmaking both in Sweden and internationally. The association runs its own gallery in Södermalm, Stockholm, which hosts rotating exhibitions and offers members the opportunity to present their diverse artistic work.
In 2023, Turun Taidegraafikot ry (The Turku Printmakers Association) visited Grafiska Sällskapet with its own celebratory 90th anniversary exhibition. Now, this valuable exchange continues here with us. Grafiska Sällskapet brings to Galleria Joella in Turku a broad and diverse exhibition: 126 artists present their works, offering a unique glimpse into the richness of contemporary Swedish printmaking. The exhibition provides an opportunity to see how artists of different ages and backgrounds interpret the traditions of printmaking and explore new techniques.
This exhibition is a significant cultural encounter – deepening the collaboration between printmakers in the two countries and creating space to discover new points of connection, differences, and sources of inspiration.
We hope that every visitor finds something in the artworks that moves them, surprises them, or sparks new thoughts.
All works in the exhibition are for sale and can be taken home immediately.
Welcome to enjoy the art and be inspired!
