Kirkas mieli (eng. bright mind) series explores the experience of connecting to nature through the mix of visuals and senses. The perceptions of the details of the physical environment interlace with the fragments of the viewer’s memories and experiences as well as pictures emerging from the collective consciousness.
The somewhat abstract paintings leave room for the viewer’s imagination. The exhibition that is composed of mostly paintings also features items, which take the form of animals or other creatures.
Appe Leppänen graduated from Turku UAS Arts Academy in 2020. Leppänen’s work emphasises experimentation and expression.
