LINJANVETO
OPEN CALL – Drawing Exhibition in Turku, July 2025
Turku Printmakers Association announces an open call for an exhibition showcasing contemporary drawing. Linjanveto will be on view from July 5 to July 27, 2025, in the warehouse building on Amiraalistonkatu, Turku.
The upcoming exhibition will highlight the art of drawing and artists working with contemporary drawing practices. With a diverse and high-quality selection, we aim to present Finnish drawing art in a unique, rugged industrial setting that creates a compelling dialogue between the artworks and the space. The venue also offers excellent conditions for presenting three-dimensional and installation-like drawing works.
The exhibition dates are 5.–27.7.2025. The vernissage is held on Friday, July 4th 18–20. The opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 12–18. During the exhibition period, weekly drawing workshops will be organized in the exhibition space. Details will be announced later.
The venue is a decommissioned tram hall. Please take into account the space’s industrial nature and unique characteristics when applying. For example, temperature or humidity fluctuations may occur during summer and may affect the works on display. More information about the venue can be found on the City of Turku’s website: https://www.turku.fi/kulttuuri/kulttuurin-valitilat/amiraalistonkadun-makasiini
The application period is 14.4.–11.5.2025. The open call is open to all artists living and working in Finland, regardless of background. The selection will be made by the exhibition team, composed of members of the Turku Printmakers Associations board. All applicants will be informed of the results in May 2025.
